Poland's official currency is the złoty (zł. or PLN), divided into 100 groszy. Banknotes come in 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 PLN denominations. Coins come in 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 groszy and 1, 2, and 5 złotys.

Approximate exchange rates of the PLN are: 4.1 PLN for 1 USD, and 4.5 PLN for 1 EUR. The best places to exchange currencies in cash are currency exchange offices (“Kantor wymiany walut”). It is discouraged to exchange currencies at the airport (low courses and high manipulative charges).
